The Faculty of Information Technology of Untar (FTI Untar) welcomed a visit from Mancer, in collaboration with Xenorize and BTSE ID, through the Blockchain Career & Education Summit 2026, held at the courtyard of Building R, Untar Campus I, on Friday (10/04/2026).
The event aimed to introduce students to blockchain technology and the concept of Web3 as part of efforts to enhance digital technology literacy amid rapid technological advancements. The summit featured Kingsen Yan, CEO and Founder of Mancer, as the keynote speaker.
In her opening remarks, Head of the FTI Untar Study Program, Lely Hiryanto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about technologies that remain relatively new and are not yet widely understood. She also emphasized the importance of preparing students to face future technological developments, including blockchain, which is considered to have significant potential across various industries.
Blockchain is a digital data storage technology consisting of interconnected blocks distributed across multiple computers in a decentralized network. Every transaction is verified through specific network mechanisms, making the data transparent, secure, and highly resistant to manipulation.
During his presentation, Kingsen Yan explained that blockchain operates through a verification process carried out by network participants known as node operators. When a transaction request is submitted, the network processes and verifies it through computational mechanisms. The node that completes the verification process most efficiently—often compared to “solving a puzzle”—receives rewards in the form of digital assets.
“Blockchain is not merely a trend; it is a new foundation for digital systems that prioritize transparency, security, and decentralization,” said Kingsen Yan. He added, “Web3 creates many new career opportunities, and students who begin learning about it today will gain a competitive advantage in the global technology industry.”
The event also marked the introduction of a new student organization, Untar Organization of Blockchain Innovation & Technology (UOBIT). The organization is dedicated to blockchain and Web3 technologies and is intended to provide students with a platform to gain hands-on learning experiences in the field.
Through the summit, students gained not only a fundamental understanding of blockchain technology but also valuable insights into career opportunities within the rapidly growing global Web3 ecosystem. (KS/YS)
