The 16th Untar Research Week, organized by the Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LPPM) Untar, was held on Wednesday (28/10/2026) at the Main Building Auditorium, Untar Campus I, under the theme “Impactful Research for Equality and a Sustainable Future.”

Research Week is an annual award event that recognizes faculty members for their contributions to scientific publications across various fields.

The annual event highlights the importance of research at Universitas Tarumanagara as part of the university’s implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in research and development.

Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., stated that future challenges are becoming increasingly complex. Issues such as climate change, urban growth, food and water security, and the rapid development of artificial intelligence cannot be addressed by a single academic discipline alone.

While research output, measured by the number of publications and citations, remains important, Prof. Amad emphasized that greater attention should be given to how research creates change and delivers tangible benefits to society.

“Research must not stop at the pages of academic journals. It must reach classrooms, industries, communities, and public policy,” he emphasized.

The awards covered several categories, including Journal and Conference Proceedings Articles, Research Grants, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Keynote and Invited Speakers at academic conferences, Books and Book Chapters, as well as Newspaper and Magazine Articles (Non-Advertorial).

The event was also attended by Chair of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., Untar Vice Rector Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog, as well as representatives of various institutions, faculty leaders, and lecturers who had published their scientific works.
