Student of Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Untar, Esperansya Desmonda Woen of Evergreen team, won The Best Speaker award in ICAEW Indonesia Business Challenge (IBC) at Ayana MidPlaza, Thursday (30/3).

The award brought Espansya to join the All-Star Team. This team will represent Indonesia in the Grand Final ICAEW China and Southeast Asia Business Challenge in Vietnam on 13 May 2023.

Esperansya stated that the ability to think critically and solve problems obtained from learnings at Untar. This abilities helped her to answer questions in the competition well, delivering Esperansya to win as The Best Speaker.

According to her, learnings at Accounting FEB Untar helped her identify risks in business case during the competition.

“Keep it up! Show the best version of yourself. You never know if you never try,” said Esperansya.

ICAEW IBC held offline by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), after three years online. ICAEW IBC is an annual competition, a place for Indonesian students to show their potentials, especially in the field of accounting.

ICAEW is an organization aims to develop world professional accountants. This organization has thousands of members spread across 147 nations, preparing students to be professional accountants.

Untar through bachelor of accounting and accounting profession has been registered as a member of ICAEW.

The ICAEW IBC Competition involved 15 team of 10 leading universities in Indonesia, from the region of Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, and Batam. This year, Gelora Team and Justice League Team from Universitas Indonesia managed to obtain the first and second place. (VW/YS/AW)
