The Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Untar held the Research Week 2024 event, themed “Towards International Research and Community Service Collaboration Based on SDGs and Sustainable Innovation,” which took place at the Auditorium of Untar’s Campus I on Monday (18/11/2024). This annual event, which has been held since 2009, serves as an awards platform for lecturers who contribute to providing solutions and positive impacts for sustainable living. The goal is to enhance lecturers’ performance in research, publications, and community service.
Awards were given to lecturers who, either individually or as part of a team, received internal or external research grants, patents or intellectual property rights, and other works that positively impacted both national and international reputations. Recognition was also given for publications in internationally indexed journals such as Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, Copernicus, DOAJ, as well as accredited national journals on SINTA.
The Head of LPPM, Ir. Jap Tji Beng, MMSI., M.Psi., Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE, stated that Research Week 2024 is expected to strengthen international collaboration in developing the quality of education and research at Untar. “The 15th Research Week coincides with Untar’s 65th anniversary, continuing its commitment to becoming a World Class University (WCU) focused on sustainability and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” he explained.
Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that this event is a form of appreciation and recognition for Untar lecturers who have contributed to scientific publications, research, and community service. “Untar is committed to continuing to support the development of research and publications by lecturers, both at the national and international levels,” he stated during the opening.
As in previous years, the 15th Research Week allocated a total incentive fund reaching billions of rupiah, with a significant increase in submissions: 2,985 works were selected from 3,355 registered works, compared to only 2,320 works the previous year. In addition to the awards, the event featured a virtual poster exhibition showcasing research and community service from various grants, both internal and external.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., along with academic staff. Research Week 2024 is a testament to Untar’s commitment to promoting innovation, global collaboration, and tangible contributions to society and sustainable environmental impact.
