Researching the Role of Balinese Traditional Villages in Narcotics Prevention, Ni Putu Noni Suharyanti Earns Doctoral Degree

Ni Putu Noni Suharyanti successfully completed her study in Doctor of Law Study Program (DIH) of Faculty of Law Untar by presenting her dissertation entitled “The Role of Customary Village in the Prevention and Countermeasures of Law Violation on Narcotics Abuse Based on Local Wisdom in Bali”, Wednesday (26/6) at Auditorium Campus I Untar.

Considering ASEAN’s vision to achieve drug-free ASEAN in 2025, Ni Putu started her research on the role of customary villages in the prevention of local wisdom-based drug offenses in Bali.

This research stated that synergy and integration between traditional villages and local wisdom, as well as national and international laws are needed to tackle the problem of narcotics. Ni Putu also suggested empowering the younger generation in Bali to participate in the prevention of drug abuse.

The main promoter, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.M., M.Kn., expected Ni Putu to contribute to other doctoral research.

Ni Putu Noni Suharyanti is the 33rd Doctor of Management Science graduate from Untar. (VH/AW/KJ)
