The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Tarumanagara (FEB Untar) held a public lecture on Friday (10/04/2026), featuring economist Mohamad Dian Revindo, Ph.D., from the Institute for Economic and Social Research, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia.

Conducted virtually, the lecture discussed the role of macroeconomics in the development of Indonesia’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) amid the rapid transformation of the digital economy.

In his presentation titled “Global Economic Dynamics and the Future of Indonesia’s Creative and Digital Economy,” Dian Revindo explained that the current global economic landscape continues to face uncertainties, ranging from geopolitical tensions to fluctuations in international markets. These conditions, he noted, also affect Indonesia’s economic stability, including the MSME sector, which serves as one of the country’s economic backbones.

He emphasized that despite these challenges, the digital economy offers significant opportunities for MSMEs to grow more rapidly and expand their market reach. Digital transformation, he added, has become essential for MSMEs to adapt, improve competitiveness, and foster innovation in the era of the creative economy.

“Indonesian MSMEs have great potential to advance through the utilization of digital technology. However, this requires strong ecosystem support, ranging from access to financing and digital literacy to supportive policies,” he stated.

The event was expected to broaden students’ understanding of the relationship between macroeconomics and MSME development in the digital era. In addition, the public lecture served as a platform for students to gain insights into future economic challenges and opportunities while preparing themselves to become adaptive and innovative generations.
