The Public Relations Office of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) welcomed a delegation from Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN) for a benchmarking visit on public relations management at Untar Campus I, Monday (14/9/2026). The meeting discussed publication management, coordination across public relations functions, and strategies for delivering information to students and prospective students.
The ITPLN delegation was led by Manager of the Public Relations and Stakeholder Relations Division (BHMS) Ir. Abdul Farid and welcomed by Head of the Public Relations and Multimedia Office of Untar Rorlen, S.E., M.M., accompanied by Untar Public Relations Manager Dr. Yugih Setyanto.
During the meeting, both parties discussed various aspects of public relations management, from publication planning and internal coordination to selecting news angles and presenting information through various communication channels.
Rorlen said that activities taking place across campus can generally become part of the Public Relations Office’s publications. Therefore, coordination among university units needs to be continuously strengthened so that information about institutional activities and achievements can be collected and communicated more effectively.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of publishing activities that provide benefits and have an impact on the community. According to Rorlen, publications are not merely about communicating institutional activities but also about demonstrating the university’s contributions to the public.
“Information that provides value and benefits needs to be communicated effectively so that it can reach the wider community,” said Rorlen.
The meeting also discussed creating content according to audience characteristics, particularly Generation Z, which makes up a large portion of students and prospective students. Untar Public Relations emphasized the importance of presenting information engagingly without compromising its substance, so that the university’s messages can be communicated effectively through various digital channels.
Abdul Farid said the visit provided ITPLN with an opportunity to learn about public relations management at Untar as a reference for evaluating and developing ITPLN’s public relations activities. (VC/YS)
