Students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences (Fikom Untar) achieved international recognition after three students were awarded Best Presenter at the International Research Paper Competition 2025 organized by Student Exchange Aboard (SEA), held at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. The final round of the competition took place on Thursday (18/12/2025). The Best Presenter award was given to the team with the most engaging, clear, and professional presentation as assessed by an international panel of judges.
The three Fikom Untar students who earned the achievement are Claribel Halim, Tracy Zagitania, and Trisna Prasetya Hadinata. Their success was made possible through the guidance of Dr. Wulan Purnama Sari, S.I.Kom., M.Si., a lecturer at Fikom Untar who also serves as Secretary of the Undergraduate Communication Studies Program at Untar.
Wulan expressed her appreciation for the students’ academic achievement. According to her, this accomplishment is particularly meaningful as the competition marked their first research experience.
“I am very proud. I believe this experience will be a valuable learning opportunity because they were able to meet and network with students from various countries,” she said.
Furthermore, Wulan hoped that this achievement would encourage more Fikom Untar students to participate in international academic competitions.
“I hope that in the future, more Fikom and Untar students in general will be brave enough to try and participate in international competitions,” she added.
One of the award recipients, Claribel Halim, shared that the preparation process came with various challenges. “During preparation, we faced challenges because the presentation was fully conducted in English. We had many team discussions and actively sought feedback from our lecturers to ensure our preparation was optimal,” she explained.
Claribel also expressed her pride in the achievement. “We are very happy and proud to be able to compete with international participants and reach this stage,” she said.
She concluded with a motivational message for students, especially those at Fikom Untar. “Don’t wait until you are ready. Believe in yourself, and in the end you will be able to do it,” she said.
This achievement reinforces Fikom Untar’s commitment to encouraging students to actively participate in international academic activities while developing research competence, communication skills, and global networking as part of experiential learning.
