The Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) of Untar held the Opening Ceremony as well as the Workshop & Game Design Competition titled Game Development with Roblox on Monday (3/11/2025) at Building R, Campus I Untar. The event was attended by high school and vocational school students from across Greater Jakarta to learn the fundamentals of interactive game development. The activity served as both a learning platform and a creative competition for the younger generation to gain closer insight into the world of technology and game design.
Head of the organizing committee, Darius Andana Haris, S.Kom., M.T.I., explained that Roblox was chosen as the focus of the event due to its popularity among Generation Z and its relevance to current trends in the gaming and artificial intelligence (AI) industries.
“When I thought about what type of game would suit this event, Roblox immediately came to mind. The game is currently very popular and widely recognized among young people like you. We hope this activity can provide real benefits and new insights into how AI technology can be utilized in the game development process,” Darius said in his remarks.

Through this activity, participants not only learned the technical aspects of game design, but were also introduced to how AI can be utilized to create smarter and more immersive gaming experiences.
The event was held offline at Building R, Campus I Untar, featuring interactive sessions between speakers and participants. Following the opening session and workshop, participants proceeded to the group-based game design development stage. The resulting projects will be presented on November 10, 2025, where the best teams will receive awards from FTI Untar.
The activity reflects FTI Untar’s strong commitment to promoting digital literacy, creative innovation, and technological mastery among the younger generation, while further strengthening Untar’s role as a university that actively bridges education with the needs of future industries.
