The Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Universitas Tarumanagara is committed to providing inclusive and enjoyable character education for children from diverse social backgrounds. This commitment was realized through a creative program titled “Ular Tangga Pancasila: Ticket to Life,” held at Pakuwon Mall, Bekasi on Sunday (5/10/2025).
The program was a collaboration between Bangun Kota, Ruang Guru, Gramedia, and FSRD Universitas Tarumanagara. Through this initiative, children were invited to learn the values of Pancasila in an engaging and interactive way using a giant snakes and ladders game.
FSRD Universitas Tarumanagara acted as a facilitator and mentor throughout the activity. The oversized snakes and ladders board was designed in vibrant colors with illustrations and moral messages on each step. Each game square represented Pancasila values such as social justice, unity, and tolerance. Children were also encouraged to answer questions and complete small activities that reinforced their understanding of these values, making the learning process enjoyable.
Dean of FSRD Universitas Tarumanagara, Dr. Kurnia Setiawan, S.Sn., M.Hum., explained that the activity is an educational design innovation that emphasizes the importance of character learning from an early age. “Through a visual and interactive approach, children can understand the meaning of Pancasila without feeling like they are studying. This is our way of instilling national values in a joyful manner,” he said.
Through this cross-institution collaboration, FSRD Untar demonstrates its role as an educational institution that not only focuses on developing artistic and design creativity, but also contributes to instilling national and humanitarian values for the next generation.
