Generation Z is considered to need to prepare themselves for the demographic bonus by engaging in self-introspection and strengthening character. This aligns with the government’s efforts to realize Indonesia Emas 2045 through improving education quality, economic transformation, and the cultivation of national values.

This perspective was conveyed by a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission X, Ferdiansyah, in a public lecture held at the auditorium of Campus I Universitas Tarumanagara on Tuesday (30/9/2025). On this occasion, he delivered a presentation titled “Education Policy in Preparing for the Realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.” Commission X oversees education, culture, research and technology, tourism, creative economy, youth, sports, and libraries.

Ferdiansyah outlined several government policies in the education sector that are considered to support the achievement of Indonesia Emas 2045. First, improving human resources by ensuring access to quality education for all levels of society. Second, economic transformation through industrial downstreaming so that added value of products can be enjoyed domestically.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of strengthening national character and identity through the inculcation of Pancasila values, tolerance, and diversity. Equitable development to reduce regional disparities, particularly in 3T areas (frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped regions), is also a priority.

Ferdiansyah added that the government is committed to strengthening governance and leadership through a clean, effective, and service-oriented bureaucracy. He also stressed the need to be prepared for global challenges so that Indonesia can compete on the international stage.

The public lecture was organized by the Education and Training Center (Pusdiklat) of Universitas Tarumanagara and moderated by Untar lecturer Prof. Dr. H. Rasji, SH., MH. The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., as well as the Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M.

In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara expressed gratitude for the presence of Ferdiansyah and all participants. He expressed hope that higher education policies could be implemented evenly across Indonesia and contribute to improving the quality of human resources, both students and lecturers. (VC/YS)
