The Untar Training Center (Pusdiklat) held a public lecture seminar titled “AI & Robotics: A Journey Through Innovation” on Monday (1/9/2025). Conducted online via Zoom, the event was attended by lecturers and students of Untar.
Head of Pusdiklat, Dr. dr. Arlends Chris, M.Si., Sp.KKLP., stated in his opening remarks that the seminar was expected to enhance participants’ understanding of developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics.
The seminar featured international speaker Prof. Pitoyo Peter Hartono, an expert in electrical and electronic engineering from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Chukyo University, Nagoya, Japan. His participation was facilitated by Dr. Hadi Cahyadi, S.E., M.B.A., a permanent lecturer at Untar’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and a partner at financial advisory firm Helios Capital.
The event was also attended by Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., and Untar leaders represented by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog. The seminar was moderated by Ir. Hadian Satria Utama, MSEE.
In his presentation, Prof. Pitoyo emphasized that the world is currently in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where AI and robotics play a crucial role in various aspects of life. “The presence of AI today can be both a challenge and an opportunity for progress. Statistically, emergent intelligence can be approached through both pure science and engineering disciplines,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri highlighted the importance of maintaining a critical perspective when utilizing new technologies. “Every technology has its strengths and weaknesses. The key is to find solutions to those limitations in order to achieve balance,” she said.
Through this seminar, participants were expected to gain valuable insights from Prof. Pitoyo, including the encouragement to become not only users of technology but also creators of innovation in the fields of AI and robotics. (VC/YS)
