Untar’s Public Relations Office participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the Higher Education Service Institution Region III (LLDikti III) on Monday (15/7/2024) at the campus of Universitas Esa Unggul, Jakarta.

Carrying the theme “Public Relations Transformation in the Digital Era: Strategies and Collaboration for the Future,” the FGD brought together heads of public relations offices from private higher education institutions under the coordination of LLDikti III.

Opening the event, Head of LLDikti III Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc., emphasized the importance of the role and function of public relations within higher education institutions. He noted that strengthening this function is essential to addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital era. He also highlighted the critical role of public relations in building and maintaining an institution’s image and reputation.

“Public relations is not merely a bridge between institutions and society; it must also serve as an agent of change,” he said. He added that public relations practitioners must be adaptive, productive, and creative, particularly in producing content that benefits both the academic community and the wider public.

In addition to the attendance of Universitas Esa Unggul Rector Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma A.P., S.T., M.B.A., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng., the event featured prominent speakers, including Chairperson of the Indonesian Public Relations Companies Association, Sari Soegondo, and Deputy Secretary General of Perhumas, Fardila Astari.

The discussion also included speakers from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek), namely Public Relations Sub-Coordinator Doddy Zulkifli Indra Atmaja and Junior Public Relations Officer Dinna Handini, S.Sos., M.I.Kom.

Untar’s Public Relations Office continues to actively participate in public relations-related activities organized by LLDikti III. Previously, Untar had served several times as host for similar events and received public relations awards from both LLDikti III and Ditjen Diktiristek. (YS/KJ)
