The Mechanical Engineering Racing Team (MeRT) Gokart team managed to make an achievement in the Eshark ROK Cup Indonesia 2024 National Series 2 event. This event was held at the Sentul Circuit, Sunday (10/3).
In this event, MeRT, which comes from the Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Engineering (FT) Untar, fielded two teams to participate in several categories. Both teams managed to bring home four trophies for Untar.
The first team consisting of Ryan Kurniawan, Fajar Adi Prasetyo, Kelvin Ferdinand T., Rizal Fahmi, and M. Arden Mudawama won 2nd place in the Shifter 150 category of the IMI DKI Kejurda, 3rd place in the Shifter University category, and 5th place in the National Shifter category.
Meanwhile, the second team consisting of Muhammad Irsal Ardiansyah, Elvan, Muhammad Ally Praktino, Aaron Jeremy, and Dwi Ardyan Mustofiana won 3rd place in the Shifter 150 Kejurda IMI DKI category.
Head of the Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program (Kaprodi) Dr. Steven Darmawan, S.T., M.T. expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by the MeRT team. This proves that the team’s hard work will pay off.
He emphasized that Untar strongly supports student activities, including extracurricular activities such as Gokart, by providing various supporting facilities such as workshop rooms with the concept of clean workshop.
According to him, this activity can hone innovation, apply learning outcomes, and form teamwork.
The hope is that the MeRT team can continue to make achievements in the Gokart event and other activities, such as the Energy Efficient Car Contest at the Puspresnas event, so that the application of the concept of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) can be more real.
On the other hand, MeRT Team Manager Muhamad Fauzan Arkan said that this achievement was the result of comprehensive teamwork and coordination.
Fauzan also hopes that the MeRT team can become National Champion in the upcoming competition.
Eshark ROK Cup Indonesia is an annual national Gokart racing championship organized by the Central Indonesian Motor Association. This year, the MeRT Untar team participated in the event.
MeRT is a student racing team under the auspices of the faculty and Tarumanagara Mechanical Students Association (IMAMTA). The team was founded in 1995 and is active in the world of inter-student racing. (KJ/AW/KJ)
