The Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) Study Program of the Faculty of Architecture, Planning, and Real Estate (FAPRE) at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) has been ranked the best Urban and Regional Planning program in Indonesia according to the latest EduRank rankings. In the subject-specific ranking, Untar’s PWK Study Program placed ahead of similar programs at several leading Indonesian universities, including the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the Universitas Indonesia (UI). Internationally, the program ranked 26th in Asia and 146th globally.
The achievement highlights the competitiveness of Untar’s PWK Study Program at the national level while demonstrating international recognition of its excellence in education, research, and academic contributions. EduRank is a global higher education ranking organization that evaluates universities and academic disciplines based on research performance, publication quality, and academic impact.
Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. stated that the accomplishment reflects Untar’s consistent commitment to maintaining academic excellence and fostering a globally competitive educational ecosystem.
“We hope this achievement will motivate the entire academic community not to become complacent. We must continue improving the quality of education, research, and community service,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the PWK Study Program at FAPRE Untar, Nadia Ayu Rahma Lestari, S.T., M.Sc., emphasized that the recognition serves as an encouragement to further enhance teaching quality, strengthen research, and continuously develop a curriculum that responds to the evolving challenges of urban and regional development. The program also plans to expand collaboration with government institutions, industry partners, and international organizations to produce adaptive and highly competent graduates.
Head of Untar’s Ranking and Reputation Office, Dr. Bagus Mulyawan, S.Kom., M.M., noted that the ranking demonstrates that Untar’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education, research, and scholarly publications have gained recognition both nationally and internationally.
According to him, the achievement is not only a source of pride for the university but also demonstrates that Indonesian private universities are capable of competing at the highest level and leading in specific academic disciplines through sustained improvements in academic quality.
This accomplishment is expected to further strengthen Untar’s position as a higher education institution committed to producing outstanding graduates and contributing to the advancement of knowledge as well as sustainable urban and regional development at both the national and global levels. (VC/YS)
