The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog, welcomed a visit from Ms. Nicky Malfliet, representative of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, on Thursday (13/11/2025) at Campus I Untar.
Nicky serves as the International Coordinator for Communication, Media & Design at the university located in Ghent, Belgium.
The visit aimed to explore opportunities for academic cooperation, particularly with the Faculty of Communication (Fikom) and the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD).
The Vice Rector expressed hope that the meeting would become an initial step toward strengthening relations and opening opportunities for sustainable collaboration in the fields of academics and research.
During the discussion, Nicky Malfliet conveyed her optimism regarding the potential for international collaboration between the two institutions.
She stated that the partnership could strengthen the position of both universities in addressing global challenges in higher education.
“Collaboration can begin with small steps, such as sharing expertise and connecting lecturers across institutions, which can then gradually be developed further,” she said.
Nicky also added that Artevelde University of Applied Sciences chose Universitas Tarumanagara as a partner because of the similarities in academic fields and vision, particularly in the development of communication, graphic design, and digital design programs. She also viewed Untar as a university with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Dr. Riris Loisa, M.Si., who attended the meeting, expressed support for the initiative. She emphasized that international collaboration is a strategic step toward improving academic and research quality while strengthening graduates’ competitiveness at the global level.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Program of FSRD Untar, Ruby Chrissandy, S.Sn., M.Ds., along with FSRD lecturers Anny Valentina, S.Sn., M.Ds., and Dr. Siti Nurannisaa Parama Bekti, S.Sn., M.Pd., as well as the Manager of Untar’s Cooperation Institution, Dr. Meirista Wulandari, S.T., M.Eng.
