The Business Management Study Program of Tarumanagara University (Untar) held an inspiring public lecture themed “Dream Job: Stand Out, Get Noticed, Get Hired” at the Auditorium of Untar Campus I. The event featured Ita Farina Wardojo, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Rodamas Group & Food Cluster, who shared her experiences and practical strategies for building a dream career.
With over 30 years of experience in the field of human resources, Ita Farina shared deep insights on recruitment processes, career development, and the importance of professional branding. She emphasized that today’s job market looks beyond just academic degrees. “What employers are looking for are integrity, commitment, teamwork skills, and real contributions in the workplace and the community,” she stated.
In her presentation, Ita also reminded students that pursuing a job based solely on passion may not be enough. “Passion can change. What matters more is doing something valuable and impactful,” she noted. She encouraged students to actively explore various fields, build relevant skills, and become problem solvers that the industry needs.
In addition, participants received strategic guidance on how to craft a compelling and professional Curriculum Vitae (CV)—from presenting experience effectively to highlighting traits and skills sought after by employers.
The public lecture was opened by the Head of the Undergraduate Business Management Program, Dr. Frangky Slamet, S.E., M.M., who emphasized the importance of equipping students with practical competencies and readiness to face career challenges. Also present was the Deputy Head II of the Business Management Program, Dr. Lydiawati Soelaiman, S.T., M.M., who expressed her support for experiential learning activities involving insights from industry practitioners.
This public lecture not only enriched students’ knowledge but also strengthened their soft skills and understanding of in-demand skills in today’s globally competitive era. The goal is to ensure that graduates of Untar’s Business Management Program are well-prepared, highly competitive, and capable of excelling in an ever-evolving professional landscape. (VC/AJ)
