The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Tarumanagara University (Untar), through its Bachelor of Architecture Program, has officially established a partnership with the Indonesian Architect Certification Institute (LSP SARSI) in the field of professional architect licensing and certification. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Block J, 8th Floor, Untar Campus I.
This collaboration aims to provide access to professional certification for architecture students and graduates, as part of an effort to enhance their competitiveness and readiness for the workforce. The signing ceremony was attended by the President Director of LSP SARSI, Ar. Pierre Albyn Pongai, IAI; Chairman of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), Ar. Georgius Budi Yulianto, IAI, AA; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Untar, Ir. Harto Tanujaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.; Head of the Bachelor of Architecture Program, Maria Veronica Gandha, S.T., M.Arch.; along with faculty members and other invited guests.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Untar, Ir. Harto Tanujaya, emphasized that this collaboration is a strategic step toward improving the quality of graduates. “In line with the Rector’s directive, every study program at Untar is expected to have a partnership with a professional certification body. Through this collaboration, students who are eager to participate in the certification program will gain significant benefits. I hope this partnership runs smoothly and continues to grow,” he stated.
The President Director of LSP SARSI, Ar. Pierre Albyn Pongai, also expressed optimism about the impact of this partnership. “I hope this collaboration will help piece together the puzzle of future challenges, while equipping students with guaranteed competencies,” he stated.
Following the opening remarks, the event continued with the signing of the MoU between the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Untar and the President Director of LSP SARSI, marking the official start of collaboration between the two institutions. The event concluded with a group photo session involving all participants.
Through this partnership, Untar reaffirms its commitment to equipping students with nationally recognized professional certifications, an essential asset in navigating the increasingly competitive architecture industry. (VA/AJ/YS)
