Students and lecturers from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, successfully showcased their work at the Smart Home & City 2025 exhibition held at JIEXPO Kemayoran on Wednesday (April 23, 2025). They presented a variety of innovative, technology-based, and AI-powered projects designed as practical solutions to everyday problems faced by the community.
The theme Smart Masterpiece reflects the integration of advanced technology and academic creativity, resulting in outstanding innovations. The word “Smart” represents the application of intelligent technology and automation systems, while “Masterpiece” signifies the high quality and value of each innovation showcased. This theme also highlights that every project is a product of the students’ ingenuity, supported by the contributions of the lecturers, making them exceptional creations.
At the exhibition, five main products resulting from the collaboration between students and lecturers were showcased. Two of them are the “Vibration Monitoring Device for Building Structures,” which functions to detect potential damage to buildings through vibration sensors, and the “Air Quality Monitoring Device,” which can monitor pollutant components in urban environments in real-time.

“The products we created are developed from our awareness of the problems we experience. These products were made as solutions to these issues”, said the Head of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Ir. Yohanes Calvinus, S.T., M.T.
Participation in this exhibition serves as a tangible manifestation of the academic community’s contribution to the development of applicable technology with a broad impact on society. Not only does this event showcase technical abilities, but it also demonstrates the strong collaboration between students and lecturers in creating functional and visionary innovations.
Through Smart Masterpiece, the Electrical Engineering Department of Untar reaffirms its commitment to presenting technology that is not only intelligent in terms of systems but also relevant, beneficial, and capable of addressing the needs of the future. (VC/YS/AJ/VC)
