Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., AE was invited to be the speaker in the 75th anniversary of Stella Duce 1 Yogyakarta High School, themed “Becoming an Inspirational Teacher”. The event was held at Stella Duce 1 Yogyakarta High School auditorium, Monday (22/5).

In the event, Rector stated ways to be an inspirational teacher in front of high school teachers. According to Rector, becoming a teacher is a noble occupation. Beside as the substitute of parents in school, teacher also holds an important role of a student’s life path.

He said that a teacher has to be a role model of students. Teachers must also explore students’ talents and interest, as smartness not only based on academic education, but also nonacademic.

Stella Duce 1 Yogyakarta High School is a private high school for female students. Established in 1948, the high school under Tarakanita Foundation is A-accredited.

Every year, Stella Duce 1 High School held an anniversary event which known as Diamond Party Memorial. This year, the theme is “Tara Nawasena’, which means a bright star for a future full with hope. (YI/YS/AW)
