The National Commission on Disability (KND) conducted a disability services assessment at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), Jakarta, on Thursday (25/06/2026). The activity followed up on the cooperation agreement between KND and the Tarumanagara Foundation, signed in April 2026, to strengthen services and promote the fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities within higher education.
Untar continues to foster an inclusive educational environment. In addition to establishing a Disability Services Unit (ULD), the university has provided various accessibility facilities for persons with disabilities, including ramps, wheelchair-accessible elevators, and other supporting infrastructure that facilitates mobility and academic activities. This commitment became one of the key focuses of KND’s visit and assessment.
The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of an inclusive campus through mapping existing needs and evaluating services available for persons with disabilities. The assessment covered several facilities that support disability services, including the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Untar and Untar’s Disability Services Unit.
Through the site visits, KND gained a comprehensive overview of the initiatives undertaken by Untar to enhance accessibility and services for persons with disabilities.
