The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Untar held a consultation seminar on ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) certification. The event aimed to provide students with insights into career development opportunities through professional certification in accounting and business on Friday (10/04/2026) at Untar Campus II.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) is one of the world’s leading professional membership organizations for chartered accountants based in London, England. The organization focuses on advancing the accounting, finance, and business professions through training, education, and the maintenance of professional ethical standards. ICAEW also offers the ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualification, widely recognized as one of the most prestigious professional certifications in the financial sector.
Untar is among the universities collaborating with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to support FEB graduates in obtaining the certification. Through this partnership, students are expected to gain broader access to opportunities for developing professional competencies at the global level.
One of FEB Untar’s alumni, Nicholas Bevan, S.E., MBA, BFP (ICAEW), attended the seminar as a speaker. On the occasion, he shared guidance with participating students to help them better understand ICAEW based on his experiences as both a student and member of the organization. Nicholas, who currently works as a Senior Consultant at RSM Consulting, explained several advantages of pursuing ICAEW certification, particularly in building professional connections and gaining experience, especially for those aspiring to work at major firms such as the Big 4 and Big 10 in Indonesia.
“By pursuing ICAEW certification, we gain many benefits, such as international recognition, a global network within top firms, increased career competitiveness, and in-depth expertise in accounting, auditing, and finance,” Nicholas stated.
Also present at the seminar was Dames Maharani, Education Partnership Development Manager of ICAEW in Indonesia, who provided further explanations about ICAEW programs to the students.
The event was also attended by Head of the Undergraduate Business Accounting Study Program Dr. Hendro Lukman, S.E., M.M., CPMA, CA, CPA (Aust.), CSRS, ACPA. In his remarks, he emphasized that certification has become an important aspect of professional career development.
Through this seminar, FEB Untar hopes to enhance students’ understanding and encourage greater interest in exploring professional certifications in accounting and business, particularly through programs offered by Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. (VC/YS)
