The Tarumanagara Accounting Student Association (IMAKTA) of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Tarumanagara (FEB Untar) held the National Tax Seminar and Competition (NTSC) 2025 at Campus II Untar from November 10–13, 2025. This annual event carried the theme “Applying Tax Rules to Digital Platform in Indonesia: Ensuring a Fair and Effective Digital Tax Future.”
The event was organized in response to the rapid growth of the digital ecosystem, which has shifted many transactions into the online sphere. This condition has created the need for tax regulations that align with digital business models in order to prevent disparities among business actors.
The series of activities included a national seminar, tax competition, and bazaar. The national seminar, held on Wednesday (12/11/2025), featured tax counselors from the Directorate General of Taxes—Timon Pieter, Agus Wahyudi, and Saptaka Adhi Nugraha—along with taxation observer representative Fajry Akbar and Head of Taxation at the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA), Daniel William Legawa.
The speakers discussed the challenges and opportunities in implementing tax policies within the digital sector, including the importance of interagency collaboration to build an adaptive and sustainable taxation system. Timon Pieter emphasized the urgency of policy updates in line with changes in the digital economy. “These changes must be accompanied by regulations that are clear, fair, and implementable. Synchronization between central and regional policies is key to ensuring a sustainable digital taxation ecosystem,” he stated.
In addition to the seminar, NTSC 2025 also held taxation competitions consisting of a poster competition for high school students and an essay competition for university students across Indonesia. The competitions encouraged participants to develop analytical skills on digital taxation issues and formulate solutions in accordance with existing regulations.
Chairperson of NTSC 2025, Ananda Nazwa Luiz Syabilla, expressed hope that the event would become a credible annual forum for discussing national taxation issues. “We hope NTSC can strengthen collaboration among academics, government institutions, the digital industry, and the wider community,” she said.

Throughout the event, a bazaar featuring various food, beverage, and non-F&B tenants was also held. The bazaar added interaction opportunities between participants and visitors. “Besides serving as a refreshing activity, the bazaar opens opportunities for collaboration with various brands and provides added value for all parties involved,” Ananda added.
IMAKTA hopes that the organization of NTSC 2025 will continue contributing to the development of taxation knowledge, particularly regarding strategic issues amid the growth of the digital economy. (CS/YS)
