The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) held the 14th International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Business Management (ICEBM) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic on November 11–12, 2025.
The conference was the result of collaboration among six partner universities and institutions: Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Kun Shan University, Universitas Bunda Mulia, MNC University, Mindanao State University, and Universitas Udayana. Dean of FEB Untar, Prof. Dr. Sawidji Widoatmodjo, S.E., M.M., M.B.A., stated that the event aimed to strengthen academic contributions and generate synergistic ideas to support sustainable business development while reinforcing international partnerships.
Director of the Centre for Southeast Asia at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Fong Pin Fen, emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in education, welfare, and entrepreneurship to create sustainable change in the region. According to her, the conference served as a platform for meaningful discussions, collaborative initiatives, and innovative ideas to shape a more inclusive future for Southeast Asia.
The event was also attended by Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., and Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. “ICEBM is part of Untar’s commitment to strengthening global networks in entrepreneurship and management,” said the Rector of Untar.
Angela Tanoesoedibjo Discusses Strategies for Building Resilient Business Systems
During the opening session, the conference featured keynote speakers from various international institutions. Angela Tanoesoedibjo, B.A., M.Com., Co-CEO of MNC Group, and Dr. Jason Tang, Chief Sustainability Officer of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, presented the topics “Building Systems that Empower: Growth and Sustainability in the Digital Age” and “From Idea to Market: Commercialisation Success Stories.”
Angela highlighted the importance of balancing bold long-term vision with consistent daily discipline in building sustainable business systems in the digital era. Meanwhile, Dr. Tang underscored the role of Centres of Innovation (COIs) in strengthening industries through product innovation, collaboration, and workforce capacity building.
The following session featured Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nyoman Sunarta, M.Si., from Universitas Udayana and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Linda Lin-Chin Lin from Kun Shan University. Dr. Nyoman presented the topic “Bali Towards the New Era: Shifting from Being Visited to Being Respected,” while Dr. Linda discussed sustainability as a driver of resilience, innovation, and profitability in Southeast Asia.
The conference series concluded with a campus tour of Ngee Ann Polytechnic and a visit to the Centre of Environmental Sustainability (CfES). The visit also strengthened academic cooperation, including student exchange programs with Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Kun Shan University.
ICEBM serves as a forum for academics, researchers, and practitioners to present research findings and discuss current issues in entrepreneurship and management. The conference has previously been held in various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam, through collaborations with international partner universities. ICEBM aims to expand global networks, encourage scientific collaboration, and strengthen academic contributions to the development of business and management studies at the international level.
