A total of 118 newly graduated doctors from the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Tarumanagara (FK Untar) officially took their professional oath and joined the ranks of Indonesia’s medical workforce on Tuesday (12/8/2025). They were reminded that the title of doctor is not merely an academic achievement, but a responsibility to serve society and uphold the dignity of the medical profession.
The 146th Doctor Inauguration and 86th Graduation Ceremony was held at the Auditorium of Building M, Campus I Untar. Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that the journey to becoming a doctor is filled with challenges and sacrifices. “Your responsibility now is to provide the best possible healthcare services to the community,” he said.
Dean of FK Untar, Dr. dr. Noer Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ., led the oath-taking ceremony in accordance with each graduate’s religion, accompanied by representatives of Indonesia’s six officially recognized religions. Since its establishment, FK Untar has graduated more than 5,000 doctors who now serve in various regions across the country.
Vice Chair I of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Jakarta Regional Chapter and Chair of IDI West Jakarta, Dr. dr. Cecilia R. Padang, Ph.D., FACR, presented the Medical Code of Ethics book as a reminder of the values and responsibilities of the profession. The Tarumanagara Medical Alumni Family Association (KAMT), represented by Dr. dr. Diah Rini Handjari, SpPA(K), also presented alumni pins to the graduates.
Representing her fellow graduates, dr. Winny Tjongarta emphasized that the inauguration marked the beginning of service rather than the end of a journey. “This achievement opens a new chapter in our lives,” she said. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Tarumanagara Foundation, leaders of partner hospitals, and delegates from healthcare institutions. FK Untar reaffirmed its commitment to producing globally competitive medical professionals who contribute to the advancement of national healthcare. (VC/YS)
