The Untar’s Choir (PSUT) held a concert titled The Music Lives On: A Tribute to Adi Nugroho at Graha Swara Untar on Saturday (24/11/2024). The concert, attended by hundreds of spectators, was dedicated to honoring the memory of Adi Nugroho, PSUT’s Music Director from 2013 to 2023, affectionately known as Didut, who passed away on November 6, 2023.
In this performance, PSUT collaborated with the Institut Teknologi Bandung Student Choir (PSM-ITB) and the Shantell Vocal Ensemble. These two invited choirs were groups that Adi Nugroho had mentored before his passing.
PSUT’s Artistic Director, Jason Ferdison, expressed in his remarks that this collaborative concert was one of Didut’s dreams as the Music Director for the three choirs. “The plan for this collaborative concert was indeed something Kak Didut wanted to organize in 2024, but last November, God called him home. Therefore, we realized this plan as a tribute to Didut’s achievements and works during his time with PSUT, PSM-ITB, and Shantell Vocal Ensemble,” said Jason.
A total of 157 singers from the three choirs enlivened the stage of Graha Swara Untar, performing a diverse repertoire. Highlights included the debut of “Shenandoah” and “Cikini Gondangdia”, arranged by Untar FSRD alumni Yosan Cahyadi.

In addition, the concert was also graced by soprano Jessica Januar, tenor Jeremiah Purwoto, accompanied by pianists Daniel Adipradhana and Nicholas Rio. The audience was enthusiastic, giving a standing ovation after each performance.
“All the parties involved in this concert are people who were close to Kak Didut, from the conductors, singers, soloists, pianists, to the graphic designer, event director, and others,” said Nicholas, the General Chairman of PSUT for 2024-2025. In his interview, Nicholas appreciated the hard work of the committee and performers who contributed to the success of the concert.
The The Music Lives On concert was also attended by the Head of the Student and Alumni Affairs Institution of Untar, Dr. Adianto, M.Sc., Head of the Public Relations Office of Untar, Dr. Dra.
