Untar’s 65-year journey has been marked by both challenges and achievements, reflecting its commitment as a higher education institution dedicated to academic excellence and social contribution. The university is expected to continue producing graduates who are committed to sustainability and capable of becoming pioneers of innovative solutions.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Higher Education Service Institution Region III (LLDikti III), Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc., during his remarks at the peak celebration of Untar’s 65th Anniversary on Saturday (2/11/2024) at the courtyard of Untar Campus II.
He expressed his admiration for the innovative spirit demonstrated by Untar’s academic community and hoped that it would inspire other institutions under LLDikti III to jointly build an educational ecosystem that supports sustainable development.
“I appreciate Untar’s dedication to producing generations who are not only intelligent but also concerned about the environment and the future of the nation,” he said.
The anniversary celebration, attended by members of Untar’s academic community, adopted the theme “Innovation for Sustainable Development.” The theme reflects Untar’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlights the importance of innovation and collaboration in achieving the university’s vision of becoming a globally competitive and distinguished educational institution.
Untar Rector, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that unity and teamwork are essential for improving institutional performance and fostering a productive and innovative academic environment. In pursuing Untar’s vision of becoming a world-class university, synergy and collaboration must continue to be strengthened to address global challenges and contribute more significantly to the nation and the world.
“Untar is committed to continuously making meaningful contributions to the nation, the state, and the global community, while realizing its vision of becoming a university characterized by integrity, professionalism, and an entrepreneurial spirit,” the Rector stated.
The celebration was also made possible through the support of Untar alumni who have achieved success as entrepreneurs and professionals in various industries. In addition, industry partners and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) around the campus were involved, demonstrating both the business sector’s support and Untar’s commitment to empowering local communities.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., along with members of the foundation and representatives of the West Jakarta Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Muspida).
“We were born from society and exist to serve society. Untar graduates must continue to grow alongside societal needs and become solutions that create a positive impact,” Ariawan remarked in his speech.
Untar’s anniversary falls on October 1, and a series of activities had been organized leading up to the celebration, including various sports competitions, blood donation drives, artistic performances, and seminars hosted by the university’s faculties. (KJ/YS/PA/KJ)
