Instilling Patriotism, Untar Holds Vocal Group Festival between Senior High Schools throughout Indonesia

Untar held an inter-high school Vocal Group Festival with themed “World Harmony” on Wednesday (18/10) at Graha Swara, Untar Campus. This event was part of a series of activities to celebrate the 64th Anniversary of Untar.

The Vocal Group Festival was participated by five schools, including SMAK Kalam Kudus, SMA Tarsisius 2, SMA Martia Bhakti, SMK Strada 1, and SMA Citra Kasih Don Bosco.

Various Student Activity Units (UKM) of Untar, namely Universitas Tarumanagara Choir (PSUT), Tarumanagara Band (BAR), and Citra Pesona (CP) Untar also performed to enliven the Vocal Group Festival.

Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. when opening the event said that the Vocal Group Festival is a place to channel students’ talents, interests, and achievements that can be used as assets for higher education.

He hopes that the event could be an opportunity for collaboration between schools, and participants could give their best performances.

Head of Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Adianto, M.Sc. in his speech said that “World Harmony” theme is aimed to instill patriotism through the performance of Indonesian traditional and pop music during the competition.

The jury, which consisted of Jason Ferdison, Willy Erfem Poliman, and Maureen Marvin, decided that the first winner was SMAK Kalam Kudus, while the second and third winners were SMA Citra Kasih Don Bosco and SMA Tarsisius 2.

In addition, the jury also chose SMA Tarsisius 2 as the Best Costume and SMAK Kalam Kudus as the Favorite Champion. (VW/AW)
