Indonesian Higher Education Library Forum (FPPTI) Greater Jakarta Region organized a seminar titled “The Role of Higher Education Library in Supporting the Achievement of World Class University”, held at Untar M Building, Tuesday (13/2).
Head of FPPTI Headquarter stated that higher education library is an opportunity for librarians and the library itself to contribute in the assessment, in order to support World Class University (WCU).
Rector of Untar during the opening speech in the seminar said that this forum could be the solution to limitations faced by library, which are synergy and collaboration.
“Librarians or libraries’ duty are no longer only provide books, but also education to lecturers and students,” he added.
Speaker of the seminar Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwardani, M.P., who also serves as the Head of LLDikti region III, presented a presentation titled “World Class University” that discusses on policies and directions of LLDikti, along with expectations for higher education libraries in order to achieve WCU. “National development starts from higher education.” said Paris.
Seminar also presented Head of Library and Information Science Universitas Indonesia Dr. Luki Wijayanti, M.Si. and lecturer of Informatics Engineering Study Program Untar Lely Hiryanto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.d., and Irma Irawati as the moderator.(VW/YS/AW)
