Interior Design student Ricky Guna Kusuma successfully won as one of the Top Five in the Nippon Paint Young Designer Award 2015. Ricky created an interior design for Bloomberg news agency office. This year NYPDA changed its name to Asian Young Designer Award (AYDA) 2016. AYDA 2016 socialization took a roadshow approach and was held in Untar Interior Design department on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. This year’s theme is “Be Bold, Be Free, Be You.” Students are expected to express the freedom of design freely, bearing in mind the competition assessment criteria. The event was opened by the head of the Interior Design study program, Drs. Emilius Heri Hermono, S.T., M.T., followed by an explanation about AYDA 2016. One significant change in the competition is that the Interior Design category only accepts works submitted by interior design students. The event’s question-and-answer session showed students’ significantly high interest in the competition. Untar FSRD Interior Design students interested in participating eagerly took the registration forms at the reception desk. The Interior Design department continues to encourage students to participate in various prestigious design competitions so that students are better prepared and more confident in the facing the world of creative industries competition in the future.
