Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Universitas Trisakti and then continued (Master in Humanities) Study of Fine Arts and Performing Arts at the Postgraduate program at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Kurnia is an Alumni of training of trainers National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI). Since 1998, he has worked at Untar, having been Assistant Dean II, Assistant Dean I, and Vice-Rector III. His interest in visual art & personal growth and development helped find the proposed research theme, which consists of cultural acculturation, creativity, and change agents. Working in the community in art design and human resource development, some of the exhibitions he held were at the National Gallery, Taman Ismail Marzuki, and Antara Journalistic Photo Gallery. He actively provides training, workshops, and seminars discussing self-awareness, leadership, and team building for various institutions (schools/companies/social institutions/government).
