Jakarta (ANTARA) – Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), one of Indonesia’s oldest private universities, has been ranked first among private universities nationwide in the category of research and community service performance.
The achievement is based on the decision issued by the Directorate of Research and Community Service under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) through Decree No. 0968/C3/DT.05.00/2025 on the 2026 Independent Cluster Classification of Higher Education Institutions.
Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that being recognized as the top private university in the Independent Cluster for research and community service performance is not only an honor but also a responsibility to continue innovating and delivering meaningful contributions with a positive impact on the nation.
“The entire Untar academic community has worked diligently to strengthen the synergy between research that addresses societal needs and community service that creates direct impact,” Sudiro said.
He added that the achievement would be further strengthened through interdisciplinary collaboration, partnerships with national and international institutions, and a commitment to ensuring that Untar’s research and community service generate broad benefits for society.
“With this commitment, we are confident that Untar will continue to transform into an institution of excellence with global competitiveness while remaining rooted in social responsibility and academic integrity,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Ariawan Gunadi, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating that the recognition reflects the strong synergy between the university’s strategic vision, human resources, and dynamic academic culture.
According to him, earning the highest ranking in the research and community service cluster demonstrates that Untar not only prioritizes formal education but is also firmly committed to producing work that creates meaningful impact for society.
“We hope this achievement will serve as a foundation for expanding partnerships, strengthening social contributions, and building an inclusive and innovative educational ecosystem,” Ariawan Gunadi said.
Untar, which offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs across eight faculties, also secured 11th place nationally in the overall ranking.
