Jakarta (ANTARA) – The West Jakarta Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) has completed the revitalization of a row of kiosks located beside Universitas Tarumanagara in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.
According to ANTARA’s observation at the site on Thursday afternoon, each kiosk measures 2 × 3 meters and features permanent walls, steel-frame structures, and wire partitions separating one unit from another. Each kiosk has also been equipped with an individual electricity meter.
However, the kiosks remain unoccupied and have yet to be assigned to vendors from the temporary trading area (lokasi sementara or loksem).
The revitalization project began with the complete demolition of the existing kiosks at the end of October 2025. A total of 70 kiosks were demolished and rebuilt.
The construction of the new kiosks was a continuation of an earlier development project, complementing the 35 existing kiosks at the same location.
With the completion of the revitalization, the site now provides a total of 105 units, consisting of 100 vendor kiosks and five communal dining areas.
Previously, Head of the West Jakarta PPKUKM Office Iqbal Idham Ramid expressed hope that the revitalization would provide greater comfort and business certainty for vendors who have long operated at the location.
He further explained that priority would be given to existing vendors. Kiosk allocation will follow the mechanism stipulated under Governor Regulation No. 10 of 2015.
“The vendors eligible for the kiosks are those officially proposed by the lurah (urban village head) and camat (subdistrict head), whose applications are then reviewed at the municipal planning level and finalized through a Mayor’s Decree,” Iqbal said on October 29, 2025.
After receiving a kiosk, the vendors will also be registered as members of Jakpreneur, an entrepreneurship empowerment program initiated by the Jakarta Provincial Government.
“We require vendors to obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB) and fulfill other business legality requirements so they can grow and advance their businesses,” Iqbal added.
