Education provides not only the knowledge to understand the world but also the foundation to make meaningful contributions to oneself and society. The hope that the knowledge acquired during their studies at the Faculty of Law (FH) of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) would be translated into meaningful contributions to the advancement of justice became the central message of the Faculty of Law Graduation Ceremony (Yudisium), held on Saturday (18/7/2026) at Untar Campus I.
The message was delivered by FH Untar Dean Prof. Dr. H. Rasji, S.H., M.H. before 174 graduates who completed their studies in the Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral Law Programs. According to him, an academic degree is not merely a personal achievement but a responsibility to uphold justice, maintain integrity, and contribute to society through legal knowledge.
The ceremony was attended by Head of the Undergraduate Law Study Program Dr. Rugun Romaida, S.H., M.H., Head of the Master of Law Study Program Dr. Moody R. Syailendra P., S.H., M.H., Head of the Master of Notarial Law Study Program Dr. Ade Adhari, S.H., M.H., and Head of the Doctor of Law Study Program Prof. Dr. Mella Ismelina FR, S.H., M.Hum.

The event also featured a professional development session delivered by an FH Untar alumnus, followed by the symbolic handover of the new graduates from the Dean of FH Untar to the Executive Board of the FH Untar Alumni Association (IKA FH Untar).
The occasion also marked the addition of a new cohort of FH Untar alumni. One of the graduates from the Doctor of Law Program, Brigjen Pol. Dr. M. Syahduddi, S.I.K., M.Si., shared that his education at FH Untar had provided valuable knowledge and contributed significantly to his career as a senior officer in the Indonesian National Police.
“Society does not judge us by whether we hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree—they see us as legal professionals. Therefore, let us uphold the reputation of our profession and our alma mater, and demonstrate that FH Untar graduates are capable of making meaningful contributions to the enforcement of law and justice,” he said.

The ceremony concluded on a celebratory note with a musical performance by Master of Law graduate Marcellius Kirana H., better known as Marcell Siahaan, who performed one of his original songs before the faculty leadership and fellow graduates. “A little entertainment from me for all of you. Don’t be sad, because this graduation ceremony is not the end—it is the beginning of a new chapter where we will meet again in the professional world,” he said. (VC/YS)
