The Interior Design Study Program of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) Untar demonstrated its academic and creative excellence through participation in the International Furniture & Craft Fair Indonesia (IFFINA) 2025, held from 17–20 September 2025 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD.
Carrying the theme “Harmony in Heritage,” the exhibition featured student-designed chairs inspired by local traditions and sustainability principles. All exhibited works had undergone a curation process led by renowned Indonesian furniture designer Eugenio Hendro as part of the Furniture Design 3 course.
The exhibition aimed to provide a platform for appreciating student works while introducing the potential of design rooted in local traditions and aligned with sustainable practices. Through these creations, Untar students are expected to address challenges in the furniture industry while highlighting the role of interior design in preserving cultural identity and promoting environmental sustainability.
The Harmony in Heritage booth also reflected a strong commitment to sustainability by incorporating recycled materials from a previous exhibition, INTERPOSE 2025. This initiative supports efforts to reduce exhibition waste while reaffirming Untar Interior Design’s dedication to sustainable practices. Contributions from Daur Baur Micro Factory and Propan Indonesia further supported the success of the exhibition.
IFFINA 2025 attracted a wide range of stakeholders from Indonesia’s furniture industry, providing Untar students with valuable opportunities to expand their professional networks, showcase creative ideas, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the national furniture design industry.
