Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar)’s commitment to strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education has earned national recognition. In the latest Science and Technology Index (SINTA) rankings, Untar was named the top private university in Indonesia, based on its achievements in scientific publications, research and innovation, and community engagement.
Over the past several years, Untar has consistently encouraged its lecturers and researchers to enhance research productivity, expand scholarly publications, and develop innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society. These efforts form key indicators in the SINTA evaluation system.
The official SINTA platform assesses the performance of higher education institutions and researchers based on the core components of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Its evaluation covers scientific publication productivity, citation impact, research and innovation performance, as well as community service activities.
In terms of publications, the SINTA Score measures institutional performance by weighting scientific articles indexed in both international and national databases, together with their scholarly impact as reflected through citation counts. SINTA also classifies the quality of Indonesian academic journals into six categories, ranging from SINTA 1, the highest tier, to SINTA 6.
Beyond evaluating individual researchers, SINTA also measures institutional performance by aggregating the achievements of the entire academic community, including scientific publications, patents, innovations, and community engagement programs.
Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn. stated that the achievement demonstrates how scientific publications, research, innovation, and community service have become integral to Untar’s ongoing efforts to improve educational quality while expanding its academic contributions to society.
Head of Untar’s Ranking and Reputation Office, Dr. Bagus Mulyawan, S.Kom., M.M., added that Untar’s position as Indonesia’s highest-ranked private university in the SINTA rankings reflects the collective achievements of its entire academic community across the various performance indicators.
The SINTA rankings serve as one of Indonesia’s principal benchmarks for evaluating the productivity and quality of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The complete ranking results are available through the official Science and Technology Index (SINTA) platform. (VC/YS)
