Untar hosted Diktisaintek Berdampak: U2B Collaboration, an initiative organized by the Higher Education Service Institution Region III Jakarta (LLDikti Region III Jakarta), on Wednesday (03/06/2026). The event served as a collaborative platform bringing together higher education institutions, businesses, and industry leaders to discuss ways of strengthening the connection between higher education and the evolving demands of the workforce.
In his opening remarks, Head of LLDikti Region III Jakarta Dr. Henri Tambunan, S.E., M.A., emphasized the importance of fostering stronger partnerships between universities and industry to ensure graduates possess competencies that align with labor market needs.
He explained that the rapid pace of digitalization and industrial transformation requires universities to become more adaptive in preparing talents who are not only academically capable but also equipped with practical and relevant skills for professional environments.
“Higher education institutions should not only produce academically outstanding graduates but also equip them with competencies that are relevant to the continuously evolving needs of industry. Therefore, collaboration with the business and industrial sectors is essential,” he said.
He further noted that the participation of various strategic partners in the forum reflects a shared responsibility to build a more impactful educational ecosystem. “Let us strengthen our partnerships to develop outstanding talents and build a more competitive Indonesia,” he added.
Meanwhile, Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. stressed that collaboration between universities and industry has become a necessity in producing graduates who are prepared for the changing world of work.
“Collaboration between higher education institutions and industry is no longer an option—it is a necessity. Untar believes that quality education must create an impact, not only for individuals but also for society. Therefore, we welcome U2B Collaboration as a platform for building more concrete and sustainable partnerships,” he stated.
The event also featured participation from several industry partners, including TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, Shanghai Electric, and PT Wook Global Technology. Their presence provided direct insights into industry expectations for future talent as well as opportunities for collaboration that can be developed with higher education institutions.
Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., Chair of the Tarumanagara Foundation; Dr. Henri Tambunan, S.E., M.A., Head of LLDikti Region III Jakarta; Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., Rector of Untar; Grace Heny, S.E., Secretary General of the Indonesian Digital Leaders Association; Regina Lie, Representative of Tokopedia SMB Partnership; as well as representatives from various universities across Indonesia.
Through Diktisaintek Berdampak: U2B Collaboration, it is hoped that a range of sustainable initiatives and partnerships will emerge to strengthen the link between education and industry, ultimately producing graduates who are highly competent, adaptable, and ready to contribute to national development.
