“The reconstruction of regulations concerning anti-labor union practices is necessary to strengthen legal protection for workers based on the values of justice,” stated doctoral candidate Vicky Ardiansyah during the open defense session of the Doctor of Law Program on Tuesday (19/05/2026), at Untar Campus I.
During the session, Vicky successfully defended his dissertation entitled “Reconstruction of Regulations on Anti-Labor Union Practices as Legal Protection for Workers Based on the Values of Justice” before the board of examiners.
The open defense was chaired by Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. Through the session, Vicky was officially declared to have passed and was awarded the 56th Doctor of Law degree from Universitas Tarumanagara with the distinction of very satisfactory.
In addition to pursuing doctoral studies, Dr. Vicky Ardiansyah also works as a lawyer at BJMHP Lawfirm, specializing in Civil and Commercial Litigation, Labor and Employment Law, as well as Property and Real Estate Law. His professional background inspired his interest in raising issues related to worker protection and anti-labor union practices in his dissertation research.
According to him, regulations that protect workers need to be strengthened to create fair and balanced industrial relations between employees and employers.
“Legal protection for workers, particularly regarding freedom of association, is an important element in realizing the values of justice within the workplace,” added the legal auditor-certified lawyer.
With the graduation of Dr. Vicky Ardiansyah, the Doctor of Law Program at Universitas Tarumanagara once again demonstrates its commitment to producing academics and legal practitioners who contribute to the development of labor law in Indonesia. (VC/YS)
