The Doctor of Civil Engineering Study Program at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) held an open doctoral examination on Wednesday, May 5, 2026, at Untar Campus I. During the session, Promovendus Augustinus Setijanto officially earned the 110th Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Untar after graduating with the distinction of highly satisfactory.

The graduation was formally confirmed by Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., before the Board of Examiners.

In the examination, Dr. Augustinus Setijanto presented his dissertation titled “The Influence Model of Trust and Satisfaction on Developer Loyalty and Dispute Avoidance among Apartment Building Contractors.” He explained that dispute resolution practices in the construction industry have generally been reactive, often carried out only after conflicts arise through litigation or arbitration processes.

Through his dissertation, Dr. Augustinus Setijanto proposed a more preventive approach by emphasizing the importance of building developer loyalty to avoid conflicts from the outset. He further noted that loyalty is determined not only by contractors’ technical capabilities, but also by communication skills and soft skills.

Drawing from more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry, Dr. Augustinus Setijanto stated that the dissertation is expected to benefit construction industry practitioners and parties seeking studies related to loyalty, trust, and satisfaction in project collaboration.

“Collaboration does not automatically create loyalty. It must first be proven through satisfaction or trust,” he concluded.

On the occasion, also present as examiners were the Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Untar who also acted as chairman of the examiners, Dr. Ir. Wilson Kosasih, S.T., M.T., IPM, ASEAN Eng. (VC/YS)
