Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Health, dr. Benjamin Paulus Octavianus, Sp.P, FISR, visited the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Tarumanagara on Thursday (April 2, 2026). The visit underscored the crucial role of young doctors in strengthening the national healthcare system, not only through academic competence but also through a strong commitment to public service.

The Deputy Minister was welcomed by the Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. dr. Noer Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ.
The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., along with faculty leaders and several university officials.

During his remarks, the Deputy Minister emphasized that medical graduates from faculties of medicine across Indonesia must possess a strong commitment to serving society.
“I sincerely hope, and this must be emphasized, that doctors graduating from faculties of medicine in Indonesia will uphold a wholehearted commitment to serving the community while also contributing to the strengthening of the national healthcare system,” he stated.

The visit continued with a tour of educational facilities within FK Untar and interactions with students. The activity formed part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of medical education while preparing future generations of doctors who are committed to integrity and public-oriented healthcare services.
