Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that universities should not merely adapt to change, but must also become the driving force behind it.

“Moving forward, we must dare to take more progressive steps by prioritizing creativity, innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration,” he stated during the Universitas Tarumanagara Family Halalbihalal gathering at Untar Campus I, Jakarta, on Thursday (April 2, 2026).

According to him, the spirit of renewal should be strengthened in line with the momentum of Eid al-Fitr, which highlights the importance of reflection and self-improvement. He noted that this principle applies not only on a personal level, but also in the management of higher education institutions.

He further explained that harmony and togetherness within the campus environment serve as essential foundations for encouraging meaningful contributions to the advancement of the university. “From there, a renewed spirit to continue contributing will emerge,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., stated that this year’s Halalbihalal theme, “Beyond Forgiveness, Toward Unity,” reflects an invitation to move beyond simply forgiving one another toward concrete action and stronger unity.

According to him, 2026 marks an important momentum for Universitas Tarumanagara to expand collaborations with various partners, both nationally and internationally. “Through hard work and collaboration, every individual has the opportunity to grow,” he remarked.

The Halalbihalal gathering, attended by university leaders and members of the academic community, formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen synergy while encouraging innovation within the campus environment.

Efficiency as a Momentum for Learning Innovation

On the same occasion, the Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara addressed the government’s call for efficiency amid current challenges. He stated that Universitas Tarumanagara supports the policy as an effort to optimize resources without compromising quality, through strengthened digitalization, program priority adjustments, and improved governance effectiveness.

In terms of education, he added that efficiency measures would not negatively affect the learning process. Instead, they could become momentum for encouraging technology-based innovation to enhance students’ learning experiences.

Echoing the same view, the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board affirmed that the foundation and all its institutions, including Universitas Tarumanagara, fully support the government’s efficiency initiative as part of efforts to maintain national stability and sustainable development.

He further explained that efficiency should be interpreted as optimization through improved governance effectiveness, technology utilization, and stronger synergy, while ensuring that the quality of education remains uncompromised. Instead, it should become an opportunity to strengthen adaptive, innovative, and globally relevant learning models. (KS/YS)
