Three Universitas Tarumanagara students who are members of the Universitas Tarumanagara Choir Student Activity Unit (UKM PSUT) achieved outstanding accomplishments in the solo vocal category at the Saint Angela International Choir Festival 2026, held from 9–14 February 2026 at Saint Angela School. The event was organized by Saint Angela Choir and attended by participants from various countries.

Meanwhile, Trisha Margaretha from the Faculty of Communication Sciences received a Silver Medal with a score of 80.71.
SAICF 2026 is an international choir festival featuring competitions and vocal education programs, including workshops and evaluation sessions with professional international judges. This year, the festival carried the theme “Bringing Hearts Together Through Sound.”
To participate in the solo category, contestants first underwent a preliminary selection stage through recording submissions. After qualifying, participants attended a stage rehearsal on 12 February 2026 to adjust to the acoustics and prepare for their performances. The competition itself was held on 13 February, where each participant performed three repertoires: Indonesian Seriosa, Art Song or Opera, and Musical Songs, with a maximum duration of 12 minutes accompanied by piano.
On 14 February 2026, participants had the opportunity to meet directly with the judges to receive feedback and performance evaluations, followed by the festival’s closing ceremony later that evening.
One of the participants shared that the competition required both strong technical preparation and mental readiness. “Each participant had to perform three different musical genres, so the preparation process was long and challenging,” said Trisha Margaretha.
This achievement adds to the growing list of accomplishments by Indonesian students in international music competitions and highlights the contribution of young generations in advancing vocal arts on the global stage. (VC/YS)
