Newly Graduated Untar Doctors Officially Take Oath, Ready to Serve the Community

Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) has once again produced a new generation of professional medical practitioners. A total of 66 graduates from the Doctor Profession Study Program officially took their oath during the 148th Doctor Inauguration and 87th Graduation Ceremony held at the Auditorium of Building M, Campus I Untar, on Wednesday (11/2/2026).

The inauguration ceremony was led by Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M.. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for the graduates’ perseverance throughout their demanding medical education journey.

According to him, the medical profession is not solely about academic competence, but also moral responsibility. Doctors are expected to carry out medical practice while upholding professional ethics, empathy, and humanitarian values.
“The title of doctor is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of service to society,” he stated.

The doctor’s oath was administered by Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Untar, Dr. dr. Noer Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ., in accordance with each graduate’s religion. The ceremony was witnessed by university leaders, lecturers, educational staff, partner teaching hospitals, and the graduates’ families.

Secretary of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Vedrych J. Kusnanto, S.Kom., M.M., who was also present at the event, expressed hope that the graduates would be able to adapt to technological developments and the dynamics of modern healthcare services.

On the same occasion, Chairperson of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) West Jakarta Branch, dr. Astrid Fransisca Padang, Sp.OG., presented the Medical Code of Ethics Book to the newly inaugurated doctors as a reminder of their professional commitment. She emphasized that the doctor’s oath serves as the foundation for delivering responsible healthcare services.

Representative of the Tarumanagara Medical Alumni Association (KAMT), dr. Sari Mariyati Dewi, M.Biomed., presented alumni pins as a symbol of the graduates officially joining the Tarumanagara medical alumni network. Meanwhile, representative of the new doctors, dr. Alexander Axel stated that the doctor’s oath represents a calling of service that must be carried out with integrity and conscience.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives from partner teaching hospitals, including Rumah Sakit Royal Taruma, Rumah Sakit Sumber Waras, and Rumah Sakit Jiwa Dharmawangsa.

Melalui pelantikan ini, FK Untar menegaskan komitmennya untuk terus menghasilkan dokter yang kompeten, berintegritas, serta siap berkontribusi dalam peningkatan kualitas layanan kesehatan masyarakat. (KS/YS)
