The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) of Untar graduated 166 students during the Odd Semester 2025/2026 Yudisium held on Tuesday (20/01/2026) at Untar Campus I. The graduates consisted of 65 students from the Undergraduate Interior Design Study Program and 101 students from the Undergraduate Visual Communication Design Study Program. The event marked the official completion of the students’ academic journey before entering the professional world.

In his remarks, Dean of FSRD Untar Dr. Kurnia Setiawan, S.Sn., M.Hum., emphasized the importance of maintaining an adaptive mindset in facing the dynamics of life and professional careers. “Life is a mystery, but we should not spend too much time dwelling deeply on one thing. Continue to stay adaptive and open to new experiences,” he told the graduates. The message highlighted the importance of graduates being prepared to continue growing amid rapid changes.

Representing the Undergraduate Interior Design Study Program, Final Project Coordinator Anastasia Cynthia Gani, S.Ds., M.Ars., also reflected on the significance of the students’ achievements. She stated that “graduation is not merely a sign of completing the curriculum, but a long process that shapes ways of thinking, emotional sensitivity, and mental resilience. Learning to fall and rise again is part of the journey toward discovering meaning.” Her statement underscored the important role of academic processes in shaping the character of future designers.

Meanwhile, Head of the Undergraduate Visual Communication Design Study Program Ruby Chrissandy, S.Sn., M.Ds., congratulated all students who had completed the final stage of their academic process. On the occasion, a special commemorative video was presented to the graduates as a form of appreciation for their academic journey. In addition, remarks delivered by FSRD staff representatives, represented by the Head of Administrative Affairs of FSRD Untar, reaffirmed that the yudisium officially validates students’ graduation status after completing all academic requirements.

The yudisium also featured the presence of FSRD Untar alumna Sanita Budihardjo, who currently serves as an Academic Tutor at the University of Sydney. She shared her experiences and delivered messages to graduates regarding readiness to enter the professional world as designers. The event also included the presentation of awards for the best final projects, as well as the HDII Choice Award presented to six selected students in recognition of the quality of their work and academic achievements.

The event series was further enlivened by singing performances from graduating students, along with the sharing of messages and impressions from student representatives. The event was also attended by lecturers and staff members of FSRD Untar, who directly expressed their support for the graduates. Through this yudisium, FSRD Untar officially sent off 166 graduates to continue their professional journeys and contributions in the fields of art and design. (VC/YS)
