The National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) has partnered with Untar as the first higher education institution appointed as a stakeholder in the Kampus Bersinar (Drug-Free Campus) program. The meeting took place at the BNN RI Headquarters in Cawang, East Jakarta, on Monday (15/10/2025).
Through this collaboration, BNN and Untar will promote education on drug prevention and countermeasures to the public, particularly university students as members of a generation that actively engages with social media. Educational content developed through this initiative will not only be disseminated through Untar’s official communication channels but will also be incorporated into academic learning materials in the future.
Untar Rector, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., expressed his support for the partnership. “Untar wholeheartedly welcomes BNN’s invitation to collaborate in educating and raising awareness about the future of young people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of BNN RI, Komjen. Pol. Suyudi Ario Seto, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., emphasized the important role of universities in public education and awareness efforts. “Untar is expected to become a stakeholder that helps us educate its students about narcotics and their dangers,” said Suyudi.
Untar’s commitment to drug prevention has been in place for many years. As part of the university’s admissions process, all prospective students are required to undergo drug screening through urine testing. Students who test positive are not stigmatized or excluded; instead, they receive guidance and supervision from physician-lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine and lecturers from the Faculty of Psychology throughout their academic journey.
In addition, Untar provides rehabilitation pathways for students found to be using narcotics, including both outpatient and residential rehabilitation options. Support is also available through the Tarumanagara Psychology Centre, which offers mental health assistance and counseling services. Through these initiatives, Untar reaffirms its commitment to fostering a healthy, safe, and drug-free campus environment.
