The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) Untar took part in the launch of the book Leadership Beyond Classroom, held at The Acre, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (18/09/2025).

FSRD Untar students were responsible for designing the book cover, while the event documentation was handled by a videography team consisting of FSRD Untar students and alumni.

Leadership Beyond Classroom is a collaborative work by 18 founders of leading private schools from various regions across Indonesia. The book aims to introduce inspiring leadership stories, promote the values of vision, courage, and commitment, and encourage reflection among educators, parents, and the wider community on the importance of leadership in preparing young generations to compete globally.

The launch event was attended by Anna Rimba Phoa, The Publisher and Founder of Mentari Group; Editor-in-Chief and curator Gerald Donovan; Michael Hadipoespito, President of BINUS School Education; and Sudino Lim, School Director for Tzu Chi International School Jakarta. Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration among school leaders in advancing private education in Indonesia.

Anna Rimba Phoa emphasized that education is the primary pathway toward national progress. According to her, the stories featured in the book demonstrate how leadership, vision, and courage can create meaningful change.

Her remarks reinforced the book’s core message.

The publication compiles the inspiring experiences of 18 globally minded school leaders who have developed schools as centers for character building, learning culture, and student readiness to face global challenges. The three leadership pillars highlighted in the book—vision, learning, and relationships—serve as the foundation for the transformation of private education in Indonesia and provide inspiration for education practitioners to continue innovating.
