The Faculty of Communication at Tarumanagara University (Fikom Untar) held an official audience with the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, S.I.Kom., on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Ministry of Culture office.

The Deputy Minister warmly welcomed the initiative of Fikom Untar students, who, through Communication Week, have consistently upheld the values of Humanism, Entrepreneurship, Professionalism, and Integrity (HEPI) as the foundation for designing programs that are both educational and entertaining.

“We thank Fikom Untar for taking part in the preservation and advancement of culture by organizing events with a cultural theme. The Ministry of Culture is ready to support and participate directly in this event and is also open to collaborating with Untar in future opportunities,” said Giring.

Arunika Fest is part of the annual Communication Week 2025 series of events organized by Fikom Untar.

The event is scheduled to take place on June 5, 2025, at La Piazza, Gandaria City Mall. This cultural festival will showcase the diversity of Indonesian traditions through performances of traditional dance, regional cuisine, and folk games, all presented in an interactive and educational format.

Arunika Fest will also feature two main competitions: the Traditional Nusantara Dance Creation Competition and the Traditional Games Competition. These competitions are open to students and cultural communities who wish to showcase local richness through dance movements or participate in traditional games. The goal is to inspire the younger generation to become more familiar with their ancestral culture in an enjoyable and prideful way.

With the spirit of synergy between the academic world, the arts community, and the government, Arunika Fest 2025 is expected to become a lively, inspirational, and inclusive cultural expression space, as well as a meaningful contribution from students toward the preservation of the nation’s culture within urban society.

Meanwhile, Communication Week, which serves as the platform for Arunika Fest, is an annual collaborative academic event for fourth-semester students of the Bachelor’s degree program in Communication Science at Fikom Untar. Through the course on Communication Program Implementation, students are challenged to design strategic communication programs that have a real impact by integrating creativity, culture, and public communication elements.

The Fikom Untar delegation at the audience was led by the Head of the Communication Science Department, Dr. Sinta Paramita, S.I.P., M.A., accompanied by the Department Secretary, Dr. Wulan Purnama Sari, M.Si., and the coordinator of the Communication Program Implementation course, Septia Winduwati, M.Si. Also present were lecturers Farid Rusdi, M.Si., and Lydia Irena, M.Si., along with student representatives from the event’s organizing team. (YS)
