Tarumanagara University (Untar) demonstrates its commitment to fostering student creativity and innovation through an exhibition titled “Mystical: The Spark of Magic.” This exhibition showcases the finest works of students from the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Untar, Class of 2021, who have completed their final projects and undergone the graduation assessment.
Held at Building M, Campus I of Untar, the exhibition ran for three days, from Tuesday (March 25, 2025) to Thursday (March 27, 2025). Embracing the theme of mystical wonders from the past to the modern era, the students presented a variety of original products that combined artistic, historical, and functional values. Items such as board games, keychains, tote bags, water bottles, stickers, and various other creative goods were displayed, each with a unique touch from its creator.

The exhibition’s Chief Organizer, Andrew Cruise Lim, stated that the main goal of this event is to introduce the works of DKV Untar students to the broader public and to inspire other students to become more enthusiastic and passionate about creating.
“Our motivation for organizing this event is to make the DKV Untar program more widely recognized by the public and to serve as an inspiration for junior students. We want to share our experiences and provide a real picture of the process behind creating a Final Project,” Andrew explained.
One of the standout works came from Stefhanie Angelina Hartono, who created a board game titled “Gotong Toapekong” that highlights Chinese-Indonesian culture. The creation process involved in-depth research to ensure historical accuracy and cultural authenticity.

“This topic is closely related to history, so I had to ensure that the data I used was accurate and reliable. My hope is that this product can help revitalize the culture and introduce the history of Gotong Toapekong to younger generations so that it won’t be forgotten,” said Stefhanie.
The involvement of faculty members also played a vital role in the success of this event. Ruby Chrissandy, S.Sn., M.Ds., Head of the DKV Undergraduate Program at Untar, also provided full support for the students’ works and their creative processes.
This exhibition stands as proof that Untar not only encourages its students to create visually captivating works, but also to incorporate educational content and cultural values. “Mystical: The Spark of Magic” is a true reflection of the spirit of DKV Untar students to create and contribute positively through their design and creativity.
