Mustafa Nahdi successfully earned his doctoral degree from the Civil Engineering Doctoral Program, Faculty of Engineering, Tarumanagara University (FT Untar), after defending his dissertation in an open session led by the Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. The session, held on Monday (January 13, 2025), in the Auditorium of Untar Campus I, was attended by an examination panel comprising Ir. Harto Tanujaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Ir. Naniek Widayati, M.T., and the Co-Promoter, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D.
In his dissertation, titled “Partnering-Based Risk Management Model in the Implementation of PPP (Public-Private Partnership) Projects,” Mustafa Nahdi emphasized the importance of applying the partnering concept in risk management. His research highlights that risk management is not merely about avoiding risks but also about collaboratively managing and preventing risks between government entities and private enterprises to minimize potential losses. The study focuses on APBN/APBD-funded PPP projects with a solicited scheme, aiming to maximize benefits for society and the nation.
The dissertation also underscores the substantial budget requirements for constructing high-quality, professional infrastructure in Indonesia. Mustafa concluded that the partnering-based risk management model developed in this study could be utilized as a Decision Support System (DSS) to enhance the success of PPP projects in Indonesia.
Mustafa’s research aligns closely with his current role as Senior Vice President of Marketing at PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero). During the open session, Mustafa Nahdi was officially declared the 88th graduate of the Civil Engineering Doctoral Program at FT Untar with honors.
“I express my gratitude, pride, and appreciation to everyone who has supported my journey to earning a Doctorate in Civil Engineering. I hope my research will benefit many parties,” he remarked during his graduation speech.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Public Works, Diana Kusumastuti, who emphasized the need for sustainable infrastructure development supported by PPPs. “Self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water is a priority that can be driven through APBN funding. To support sustainable infrastructure development, PPPs are highly essential in Indonesia,” Diana stated during the event.
