The Tarumanagara Foundation successfully held the opening event of the Startup Ecosystem Exposure Indonesia 2025. The event took place at Campus I of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) on Tuesday, January 7, 2024. The opening ceremony marked the beginning of the main activities, which will run for seven days, from January 5 to 12, 2025.
The event was attended by students from 25 universities across Indonesia, as well as several distinguished guests, including leaders from participating universities. Also present were delegates from the Singapore Embassy in Indonesia, namely Roystan Ang and Terrence Teo; the Vice President of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Prof. Chee Youw Meng; the Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M.; and the Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region III, represented by Dian Rusdiana.
Two keynote speakers also delivered inspiring presentations at the event. The President Director of Bank Central Asia (BCA), Armand Hartono, presented on the topic “Resilient Leadership for a Future-Ready World”, while the Director of LPDP Indonesia Scholarships, Dwi Larso, gave a presentation titled “Entrepreneurial Education: Building Resilience & Shaping The Future.” The presence of representatives from various renowned companies in Indonesia further enriched the event with interactive and informative sessions.
Startup Ecosystem Exposure Indonesia 2025 is the result of an international collaboration between the Tarumanagara Foundation, the National University of Singapore (NUS), and two domestic strategic partners, Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). This program aims to strengthen Indonesia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through innovation, research, and cross-border collaboration. This initiative is expected to provide global insights for participating students and local startup actors, while also opening opportunities to enter international markets.
The Chairperson of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., expressed appreciation for the collaboration. He emphasized the importance of commitment in building a resilient and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Indonesia, with its large young population and its role in Asia, has tremendous potential to become a key player in global entrepreneurship. This activity provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their adaptability, leadership skills, and build valuable international connections,” said Prof. Ariawan.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Prof. Chee Youw Meng, in his speech, emphasized the importance of this program in developing entrepreneurial innovation in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
“Besides developing business ideas, this program is expected to strengthen long-term relationships and collaborations between Indonesian and Singaporean students,” he explained.
The opening event concluded with a group photo session and a dinner, providing an opportunity for VIP guests to expand their networks and build professional relationships. (VC/AJ/YS/VC)
